Reading, a need of the soul...

I don’t know how you keep your books, your notes, neither how many you have. But if you do not keep them in order, with love, it means that you haven’t discovered yet one of the biggest treasures that belong to you. Look at them as if they were jewels and give them an important place in your space. Don’t misuse them, don’t fold them, but then again don’t let them stay as new, so that they long for your hand’s touch, your pencil’s writing or your eye’s caress on them.

Try to see them as living beings, because the words that are written within them are living voices that recover their strength, in the measure that your soul participates in the reading.

If you read with the eyes of your heart, they will be transformed to intelligent beings that will come to your help every time you need them. They will remind you of what is good for you when you are suffering or when you are laughing, when you are in doubt or when you discover a truth that was hidden from you until now. They will advise you when you doubt and when you are confused. They will seal your good decisions.

They will broaden your notion of the world.  They will lead you closer to other people. They will help you find your place in the world and inspire your respect for the wise and acceptance of those who know less...
