Why do Symbols of the ancient civilizations continue to hold so much fascination on us?
Symbols hold a powerful attraction for people. Even today, in an age in which materialistic perspectives rule human thought, many ancient symbols such as the ankh, the yin/yang, American Indian designs, pyramids, and many other symbols are quite popular in jewelry and in the home. Why do symbols of the ancient civilizations continue to be an integral part of our society, even to the point that corporations use them in commercials, movies, logos, in television documentaries, etc.?

I heard these words from him (Dr. N. Sri Ram) in my distant youth and I have meditated much on this teaching. In general, men and women are like tree trunks that have been launched into the river of life; first dry and whole, then beaten about and wet, they float along with the current which the powerful people of this world have diverted. There they go!

We all want more...When we start the journey of life, we are anxious before this world of ours, without principles nor goals, like a train on a crazy ride that doesn’t know from which station it took of nor its destination; a train without drivers; a train that doesn’t slow down although it doesn’t know if it will stop by itself or it will derail on a bend in the path. Beyond metaphor, or better said, transforming to reality, we are on this crazy ride, where everyone has to be on the top. It demands from us more and we want more as well.
